Demon's Souls Achieves 60 FPS on PC via KyTyPS5 Emulator, While God of War Ragnarok Faces Challenges
The landscape of video game emulation has seen significant advancements recently, particularly with PlayStation 5 titles. Among these, the Demon's Souls remake has stood out, now running smoothly at 60 FPS on a PC using the KyTyPS5 emulator. This development contrasts sharply with the ongoing struggles to emulate God of War Ragnarok, which currently experiences severe performance issues.
Breakthrough Performance of Demon's Souls
Recent testing by Geralt Benchmarks has demonstrated that the Demon's Souls remake, originally developed by Bluepoint Games, can achieve an impressive average of 60+ FPS on a PC equipped with an MD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and a GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card. With the addition of DLSS frame generation, players can push this to around 120 FPS, showcasing the emulator's rapid development and potential.
Details of the KyTyPS5 Emulator
The advancements in the KyTyPS5 emulator, particularly in its version v20261017, have been noteworthy. Although the emulator currently supports a maximum resolution of 1440p, it is important to note that some stuttering issues persist. Despite these minor setbacks, the overall performance represents a significant leap from earlier iterations where the game struggled to maintain steady frame rates.
God of War Ragnarok's Current Status
While Demon's Souls enjoys newfound stability, God of War Ragnarok presents a contrasting scenario. Efforts to run this title on the same emulator have yielded mixed results, with gameplay reportedly fluctuating between 10 to 25 FPS. Players have encountered numerous graphical glitches, including bright flashes that detract from the experience. This disparity highlights the challenges developers face in achieving full compatibility with more complex titles.
Future of PS5 Emulation
The rapid progress in PS5 emulation, particularly for games like Demon's Souls, suggests a promising future for players eager to experience these titles on PC. Согласно тестам, версия KyTyPS5 v20261017 поддерживает максимальное разрешение 1440p, но по-прежнему наблюдаются проблемы со скачками кадров.
